So much for my barbaric yawp over the rooftops of the world.

This is My Lovely Wife:


My Lovely Wife and I live in Brooklyn with 5 cats. We had six. 6 cats. Charles was the Orange Boy in this picture, and he was the best of all possible Orange Boys. Montgomery is the white and grey tabby, and he was the Best Boy. Both are gone now.


I work in Manhattan; my job is so square that it's cool... I sell antique maps. I can't ever leave this job, really, so I'll probably never go on tour with my music... Not any more than a week or so, anyhow.

I am a bassist and a guitarist, and program a mean drum machine. I write and record my own material, of which more than forty songs can be found on my website, The James Rocket. It's rock, of various stripes. I've had people that I respect deeply tell me they liked it, so hey.

Meanwhile I'm playing bass in a A Bunch Of Girls. We kick ass and take names.

I used to roleplay a lot. I haven't had time nowadays with the music. I still have my books, so if the music goes south I always have Traveller and Tunnels & Trolls to fall back on.

My wife used to ride and wrench a '73 Honda CB750, but she's been slammed for time with teaching, so we let it go. When things get sorted, we'll get her a dual-sport.

Did I mention we have five cats? And a kitten? six cats?

We both gotta hit the gym more often but she looks like a million bucks no matter what she says.

I like gin. I mix the world's best gimlet; and "Baby Bear's Martini" comes out "just right" when you mix 6-1 with Plymouth, Vya, Shaken Like A Colicky Baby and given a twist. "Baby Bear's Margarita" is the juice of one lime, one shot of Cointreau, and three shots of Cabrito Reposado Tequila. Served up or on the rocks, depending on the season. "Baby Bear's Manhattan" is 3 parts Old Overholt Rye, 1 part Punt y Mes sweet vermouth, a couple dashes of bitters, S.L.A.C.B. and served up with a Luxardo cherry.

My last birthday was celebrated with a nice big party, wherein I served my friends Aviations. I didn't know THEN that I needed the Creme de Violette... Next year I can do it right.
